Outages are along West Tennessee Street, Midtown and other areas.
The city of Tallahassee is reporting more than 80 outages affecting just over 3,000 customers.
Some of the biggest outages are in Frenchtown, with power out for more than 900 customers, and neighborhoods just north of Timberlane Road and just south of Blountstown Road.
Other smaller outages have been reported across town. One resident of Betton Hills reported losing power earlier in the morning.
City utility crews are working to restore power before conditions worsen, said City Spokeswoman Alison Faris.
“They will continue to work as long as it is safe to do so,” she said.
Mayor Andrew Gillum, during an interview at the Leon County Emergency Operations Center, said the recovery from Michael could be prolonged.
“We obviously can’t make any guarantees about how quickly we can recover the system,” he said. “But what folks should know is that in advance, we have pre-staged today over 100 utility linemen that are here in our community that are not part of or normal system. By the time Thursday rolls around we’ll have north of 500 linemen in our community.”
